Discipline-o-gram
I dont like the month of August because Professor goes away on vacation and it leaves me feeling off, unanchored, abandoned. Intellectually, I know that he isnt very far away (about the same distance that he is when he is home) and that he is only gone for three weeks (we have been apart for that long before without a problem), but for whatever reason, I have a hard time in August.
It probably has to do with the whole "severing of the electric cord' thing. His vacation house has one of those dial up service types...slow dial up service and not alot of privacy. So, this Naughty One is used to not only regular meetings with her Disciplinarian, but also a pretty consistant diet of emails/IMs as well, and it keeps her grounded...anchored...because he is a steady, consistant voice of reason in the midst of naughty madness.
So August sucks, and every summer at this time, Professor is faced with the arduous task of trying to send me emails that both reassure me and keep me on the "behaviorally" straight and narrow. No easy task, I assure you.
However, being the prodigal Professor, no matter where he is, no matter how far away, or how bad the connection is, he somehow manages to make me swoon. And today was no exception. This is the first "August is here, but don't worry Naughty One, because I will be home soon" email. Happy August everyone. Enjoy the "heat" ;)
Yeah. Sort of rocks my world, he does. It was the "that I am now a part of you" line that got me. Yeah. I think it most definitely was. Swoony.....a whole lot of swoony. I think maybe this August won't be so bad after all......especially if I keep getting those kinds of reminders ;)
